This piece was written a year before March 2020 / COVID in a seminar on food values. I noticed how Silicon Valley companies used food as a driver for productivity and it sent me down the remote versus in-person rabbit hole.

Update 4/1/21: I'm working in the same house as someone who works directly under and remotely for Marissa Mayer*,* who I quoted twice in this paper disavowing remote work. Bonkers.

Update 12/19/21: I will soon be interning at Google. Will let you know how much I like those Google lunches.

Update 10/1/22: Loved the lunches so much that I’ll be returning to Google full-time.
